Maine notaries will gather this month in Old Orchard Beach for their annual convention and public education conference.

The 19th annual State Notary Public Education Conference is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19 at The Dunegrass Golf and Country Club. The conference is sponsored by the Informed Notaries of Maine, the state’s only professional association of notaries public.

It’s the state’s largest annual educational event for Maine notaries and a chance to review procedures and prepare for the mandatory Notary Commission Renewal Exam.

Highlights include seven educational workshops, vendors, door prizes and networking opportunities.

Featured speakers include Secretary of State Charles Summers, Deputy Secretary of State Julie Flynn and State Notary Officer Cathy Beaudoin.

Workshop topics include a refresher course, ways to avoid common errors, proper forms for the customer transaction and performing a great wedding.

Registration is $65 for members and $70 for nonmembers. The fee includes the luncheon and all applicable material.
