OXFORD — The Oxford Casino will hold a second job fair next weekend for remaining open positions, including servers, cooks, bartenders, cage vault cashiers and slot technicians.

Scott Smith, spokesman for the casino, said that as opening day approaches, the casino is hiring employees for day-to-day operations.

The job fair will be held April 14 at the Poland Spring Inn and Resort on Route 26 in Poland and will be much larger than the March job fair held for table dealer hires.

Smith said the resort venue will be necessary as the casino expects a much larger crowd for a wider range of jobs.

He said training should begin soon, as well as background checks and orientation. He said the casino is putting together its menu, for which it will need to train line cooks.

Anyone interested in applying at the job fair must first apply online at oxfordcasino.com. When they get to the job fair, the staff processing applicants will already have their information. “That will help us with our efficiencies,” Smith said. “We’re anticipating a lot of people.”

Job openings include servers, bartenders, bar backs, cooks, dishwashers, busboys, housekeepers, audit clerks, cage workers, guest service attendants, slot attendants, slot technicians and surveillance operators.

The job fair will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the Poland Spring Inn and Resort’s Maine Inn. The fair will run until 3 p.m.
