LAKELAND, Fla. — Leo Alfred Martineau, 83, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Lewiston, died Thursday, April 5, due to complications of a stroke.

Leo was born on Nov. 16, 1928, in Lewiston to Emile and Albertine (Blais) Martineau. He moved to Lakeland in 1969, coming from Lewiston.

Leo retired from Piper Aircraft. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Leo was united in marriage in May 1960 to his wife, Gertrude, who preceded him in death in 2007.

Leo is survived by his son, Philip Martineau, of Rincon, Ga.; his daughter, Angele Tice of Lakeland, Fla.; sisters, Murielle Turmenne of Lewiston,  and Theresa Rivers of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and his grandson, Dylan Tice of Lakeland, Fla.

He was also predeceased by his son, Angelo; his sister, Lorette Oulette; and his brothers, Lucien and Roger Martineau.
