LEWISTON — The public is invited to a “Community Conversation about Diversity at USM-LAC and in our Community” on Wednesday, April 11.

People will be invited to share their experiences with diversity at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College and in the community. Also discussed will be how to encourage diverse viewpoints, perspectives, how the college is serving students and how can it improve.

The community dialogue is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. and continue until 1:45 p.m. at the University of Southern’s Maine Lewiston-Auburn College, 51 Westminster St., Lewiston.

Facilitators will be Joyce Gibson, dean of USM-LAC, and Linda Silka, director of the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center.

People attended are encouraged to bring their own lunches. The event is co-sponsored by USM-LAC’s Student Government Association and the college’s Community Engagement and Diversity Action Group.
