Please join us in celebrating volunteerism and promoting opportunities to serve. Thank you. — Heather Chandel, hchandel@seniorsplus.org, 513-3710, hchandel@seniorsplus.org

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Trinity Jubilee Center is gearing up for its eighth annual Empty Bowls Supper on May 6. Local potters donate bowls, local restaurants donate dinner, and local musicians play music, and all of the proceeds benefit our soup kitchen and food pantry.

Several of the potters we work with are struggling in this economy and aren’t able to donate as much as in previous years. We’re hoping some of your readers may be interested in donating pottery or can pass the information along to friends.

The Trinity Jubilee Center in Lewiston offers a hot meal seven days a week, runs a food pantry, serves as the day shelter and warming center for the city of Lewiston and provides support and resources to anyone in need. Each month 2,000 meals are served and more than 800 bags of groceries are distributed.

On May 6, all are invited to purchase a bowl, receive dinner and listen to live music. As the event grows in popularity each year, the center is still in great need of pottery donations. This is a great way for potters to give back to the community and get their name heard. Anyone interested in donating, please contact me. Thank you! — Erin, jubileecenter1@hotmail.com, 782-5700

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Pathways Inc. is a nonprofit agency providing many services to individuals with developmental disabilities. A part of what we do is help individuals develop important life skills, gain personal growth in many areas, become more independent and introduce them to community recreation activities.

In order to be successful, we must have the supplies available for these activities. Some much-needed supplies include fishing poles and supplies, material and sewing supplies, outdoor games (e.g., horseshoes, ball games), bicycles, cameras/SD cards, craft supplies, exercise videos, snowshoes, cross-country skis, yarn, etc.

These items will help our individuals gain independence, natural supports and gross motor skills. Please visit our website, www.pathwaysmaine.com, for more information. — Stephanie Bell, stephanieb@pathwaysmaine.com, 795-4085, ext 2324
