LEWISTON — Amanda C. Gaudreau, 94, of Lewiston, passed away on Monday, April 9, with her family by her side.
Amanda was born in St. Helene, Quebec, Canada, Dec. 18, 1917, a daughter of the late Joseph and Delvina (Guay) Paradis. She attended local schools and received her high school diploma.
On Aug. 31, 1941, she married the love of her life, George Gaudreau at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lewiston. Together they worked and raised their young family in Maine and Connecticut, before moving back permanently to Maine. Amanda enjoyed playing beano, reading the paper from cover to cover, listening to big band music and spinning the Wheel of Fortune at d’Youville. She especially enjoyed winning, which she did often.
Amanda is survived by her four children, Richard Gaudreau and his wife, Karen, of Broad Brook, Conn., Margaret Saulnier and her significant other, Alcide, of Colrain, Mass., Roger Gaudreau and his wife, Debbie, of Canton, Conn., and Lorain Field and her husband, John Field, of Leland, N.C.; six grandchildren, Michelle, Gabrielle, Diane, Jeremy, Ashlyn and Alyssa; three great-grandchildren, George, Nick and Jillian, and was excited to welcome a fourth this coming September; two sisters, Aurora Foisy and Pauline Faucher; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
