OXFORD — Dawn M. Mayberry, 22, of Oxford, passed away, Saturday, April 7.

She was born in Portland, Dec. 19, 1989, to John E. Mayberry Jr. and Betty Leighton. Dawn graduated from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, Class of 2008. She earned school academic awards and was student of the month.

She was a very gentle and kind person and had a great love for animals.

She is survived by her parents, John and Betty; paternal grandmother, Judy Storms; maternal grandmother, Sarah Leighton; brother, Ryan Leighton of New Gloucester; sister, Jamie Mayberry of New Jersey; nieces, Medelynn Leighton and Maressa Leighton; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers, John Mayberry Sr. and Gilbert Leighton.
