SABATTUS — Oak Hill Adult and Community Education has announced its spring class schedule. The second session runs April through May. All classes, with the exception of Zumba, run in six-week increments. For more information, visit www.oakhillnet.org or www.maineadulted.org or call 375-6605.

Unless other arrangements are indicated, classes will take place at Oak Hill High School.

General Educational Development: Classes will be offered from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Preparation classes will be offered to refresh skills in science, social studies, reading, mathematics, grammar and writing.

An adult high school diploma is available for adults who wish to earn credits through a combination of classes and home study. Credits earned through adult education are added to those earned in high school. Credits may be awarded for military service, work and volunteer services. Classes are ongoing, from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

An after-school program for children is also available in Litchfield and Sabattus. Both sites offer enrichment activities and field trips. Contact Carman Douglas for more information at 375-6605.

Substitute teaching: The free workshop will provide participants with basic skills in classroom behavior management and classroom strategies and activities. Workshops are available from 3 to 5 p.m. Those interested should call for an appointment.

Instructor training: Oak Hill Adult Education invites anyone who has a skill or hobby to share with others to join the staff. The training will help participants learn how to teach others and share information in a classroom setting. The training is free. Class will meet from 6 to 7 p.m., with dates to be announced.

Zumba Gold: One-hour of high impact Latin-infused aerobic workout for those of any age or fitness level. Adriane Kramer of Girl Power Fitness will instruct. Class will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Cost is $50 for one day, or $80 for both. These classes take place at Andy Valley Gymnastics, 74 Westminster St., Lewiston.

Intro to Microsoft Office: The workshop will teach how to maneuver through Microsoft Office, covering Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Instructor Josie French. Classes will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. Cost is $40/$45 non-refundable.

Advanced genealogy: This class delves farther into your family tree. The focus is on how to overcome roadblocks and more in-depth ways to track family. Instructor Josie French. Tuesday evenings from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $45/$50 non-refundable.

Preserves, pickles and more: Join Instructor Carman Douglas and learn how to can, pickle and preserve like a pro. Course will be held Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $60/$65 non-refundable. Supplies are included.

Memoir writing: If you have a life full of stories and are unsure how to write them down, this course is for you. Join instructor CarlaRose Dubois on Tuesday evenings from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $40/$45 non-refundable.

Natural parenting: Learn all about cloth diapers, organic baby food, baby sign language and more. Join instructor CarlaRose Dubois on Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $50/$55 non-refundable.

Reiki II: Space is limited. Focus is on healing using energies all around us. Instructor is Julia Nason. Cost is $50/$55. Offered May 8 and 15. Classes are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evenings.

Basics of auto care: Learn how to change a tire, check oil, boost a battery and more. Instructor is Marc Dumais, owner of Dumais Auto. Classes will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursdays. Cost is $50/$55 non-refundable.
