LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Donald A. Bissonnette was celebrated by the Rev. Lionel Chouinard and concelebrated by Monsignor Andrew Dubois, as well as the Rev. Robert Parent, the Rev. Robert Larivierre, and the Rev. Albert Roux. Monsignor Marc Caron was in attendance in the Sanctuary as Pastor representing the Prince of Peace Parish on Wednesday at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. During Mass, the Old Testament was proclaimed by Don’s good friend, Ray Lagueux, and the New Testament was proclaimed by Don’s son, David Bissonnette. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by Don’s son, Jeffrey Bissonnette, and the Offertory Gifts were brought to the altar by Don’s good friends, Chris and Steven Dorsey as well as Susan Lagueux. Words of Remembrance were shared by Don’s daughter, Anne Pelkey. During the funeral profession, the funeral cortege passed Don’s life long family home for the last time on Stanley Street in tribute to him, Father Chouinard, Don’s brother-in-law, recited committal prayers at the interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At the conclusion of committal prayers, the U.S. Army Honor Detail presented our country’s flag to Don’s wife, Marthe in recognition of her husband’s service to his country during the Korean Conflict. At the conclusion of services, all were then invited to a reception of fellowship at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. Pallbearers were all fellow members of the Maine Association of Professional Accountants, Marcus and Ronald McAllister, Aaron Perkins, Joseph Santoro, Robert Parker and Cecil Wheeler.
