WESTBROOK — Marjory Hall Bryant, 90, of East Dixfield, died late Monday, April 9, at the Springbrook Center.

Marjory was born Oct. 20, 1921, in East Dixfield, the daughter of Ralph and Orrissa (Rollins) Hall. Her elementary school years were spent in the two-room school house in East Dixfield. She graduated from Wilton Academy in 1940. She attended hair dressing school in Lewiston. She was employed at Crosby’s store in Farmington, prior to her marriage.

On April 3, 1945, she married Malcolm F. Bryant, of Wilton. Their first year was spent in Denver, Colo., where Malcolm was stationed in the Army/Air Force. Upon his discharge, they returned to the family farm in East Dixfield, where they spent the remainder of their married life.

Early in her married life, she supplemented the family income by doing in-home hair dressing services. She was also active in the Franklin County Extension. She spent several years caring for her mother, who suffered with Muscular Dystrophy. She then enjoyed serving the town of Wilton, as the librarian at the Wilton Free Public Library (Goodspeed Memorial Library).

Upon her retirement from the library, she and Mac enjoyed a cross country auto trip to visit her sister Polly in Concord, Calif. Along the way, they made many stops and saw places of interest. Sunday afternoon drives were a favorite past time, too.

Another of her favorite times was her work on the family genealogies and history in East Dixfield.
