Best Chowder Chefs Award: first, Rolly’s Diner, Auburn; 2nd, Fish Bones, Lewiston; 3rd, Andover General Store, Andover.

Best Chili People’s Choice Award: 1st, South of the Border, Lewiston; second, Old Mill Tavern, Harrison; third, Davinci’s, Lewiston.

Best Chowder People’s Choice Award: first, Village Inn, Auburn; second, Always Fresh LaRochelle’s Seafood, Auburn; third, Fish Bones, Lewiston.

Best Display: first, Rolly’s Diner, Auburn; second, Village Inn, Auburn; third, Russell Park Living Center, Lewiston.


 Deanna Nadeau of Greene samples some chocolate dipped strawberries from the Green Ladle table at the 9th annual Chili and Chowder taste challenge on Wednesday at the Ramada Inn Conference Center. The event drew almost 700 tasters with 21 restaurants participating to benefit Longley Elementary School and the Green Ladle scholarship fund.
