The hour-long session will include traditional French favorites, and the opportunity to relive the spirit of the kitchen parties of years gone by. The audience is led in the songs by a group of community members, including Aliette Couturier, who was recently inducted into the Franco-American Hall of Fame. Words to all the songs are provided, so no knowledge of French is required. Participants of all ages are encouraged to attend.

“We’ve had seniors misting up when they hear the songs their memere used to sing, and kids experiencing their heritage for the first time” said collection coordinator James Myall. “An event like this is a great resource for the whole community.”

The event is free, and light refreshments will be provided. In case of bad weather, the event will be held Friday, April 27. Call the USM Stormline at 753-6595 to check for cancellations.
