LEWISTON — Alice Jeanette Auger, 83, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, April 11, at Central Maine Medical Center, with family at her side.

Jeanette, as she commonly went by, was born in Lewiston, July 2, 1928, the daughter of Jean “John” B. and Edna “Betty” (Hanson) Roy. She grew up and was educated in Lewiston and Auburn.

On June 29, 1963, she married Louis Paul Auger at the High Street Congregational Church in Auburn. She worked at Cummings Cleaners in Auburn, before working for a number of years at Supreme Slipper in Lewiston and FaithWorks in Lewiston, before she retired. She also volunteered for the Auburn Public Library for a number of years.

Among her favorite enjoyments were spending time with her family and friends, listening to classical music and reading. She will be remembered for her kind and loving nature, strong dedication to family and for her wonderful sense of humor.

She leaves her two children, Jeanine Labrecque and her husband, Brian, of Lewiston and Michael Auger and his wife, Christina Epperson, of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Megan Labrecque and Haley Labrecque; and two nephews, Kirk Robbins and Timothy Robbins, both of Portland.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis; her parents; and sisters, Irene Garnett and Ann “Bunny” Robbins.

The family would like to warmly thank Dr. Stephen Fairchild and the staff at the Sarah Frye Home, Montello Commons, Montello Manor and Central Maine Medical Center for the excellent care and attention she received.

Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
