LEWISTON — On Wednesday, April 11, Yvette R. Richard, 89, died at her home with her husband and family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 21, 1923, the oldest daughter of Adolphe and Etta Comeau Lessard. She was educated in Lewiston Catholic schools.

Mrs. Richard was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church and the Ladies of St. Anne’s Sodality of the parish. She was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom.

Yvette loved to be with her family and continued her love for family through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a woman of faith. She had a great love for God, her sacrament of marriage to her husband Jean Paul of almost 70 years and always chose to see the good in people.

Yvette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was content being at home with her family by her side. She will be remembered for her gentleness, her loyalty, her compassion and loving ways. She will always live in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Jean Paul; daughters, Jacqueline (Leo) Guay of Lewiston and Michelle (Peter) Fournier of Sabattus, sons, Raymond (Linda) of Texas, the Rev. Normand Richard of Portland, Daniel and fiancee, Lynnae, of Arizona, and Ronald and fiancee, Darlene, of Sabattus; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, with another due in September; she also leaves a special cousin, Perry Comeau of California; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
