AUBURN — Mary Elizabeth Marsden Shedd, 82, of Auburn, died April 14, in Auburn.

She was born May 4, 1929, in Methuen, Mass., to Joseph and Mary Hood Marsden.

She attended University of Maine at Orono and enjoyed sailing, skiing and water sports. She grew up in Maine with her brothers, Sidney and Albert, and her sister, Evelyn. She spent her summers at Taylor Pond in Auburn and Little Deer Isle. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her children, Lynne Shedd Simonds, Mark Daniel Shedd, Dale Shedd Whitesell; grandchildren, Robin Mary Simonds Fitch, Susan Grace Simonds, Paul Tracy Scott, Russell Herbert Scott III, Julian Shedd Scott, Lillian Shedd Whitesell, Craig Peter Whitesell.

She was predeceased by her husband, with whom she was divorced, Mark Redans Shedd; and her daughter, Nancy Shedd Scott.
