LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen will hold a public hearing Tuesday on a renewal of a liquor license for Riverview Pub on Depot Street, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said Friday.

There have been no negative reports from police about the establishment, she said.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the town office.

Selectmen also plan to finalize the town’s proposed budget. As of April 2, the budget was proposed at $2.2 million for 2012-13, without adding any money for capital improvements, Flagg previously said.

The proposal, as is, is $4,659 more than this fiscal year’s budget.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Bill Demaray said previously he wanted to check the bottom line before determining how much to put into a capital improvement account.

The board also will discuss the possibility of licensing the fire department as first responders. Firefighters and police are being called out to respond to ambulance calls and are beating the ambulances to the residences sometimes, Flagg said.

If the fire department was licensed, qualified firefighters could begin treatment in an emergency situation, she said.

The board also will discuss a free medicine disposal day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 at the Livermore Falls Police Station. The collection will include prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicine, veterinary medicine and vitamins, Flagg said.

She said she also will update selectmen on anticipated work to be done to fix the cracks on the town’s tennis courts and redoing the basketball court.
