TURNER — The Turner Public Library will host a book reading and signing by author Annie Morecambe and illustrator Jackie Dyerbe on Saturday, April 21, as part of the Celebration of Spring and Earth Day.

Morecambe was born in Maine and has produced many books for all ages, including the quintet “The Legend of Greywinds” for young readers about a magical land under duress of evil. Two girls are called upon to go to the magic land of therapies where they call on the power of Earth, Wind and Water to conquer the evil.

Illustrator Dyer, who also creates art books to coordinate with the texts, will be present with the author at 10 a.m.

The Celebration of Spring and Earth Day will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  at the Leavitt Institute Building on Mathews Way in Turner Center.

There will be 15 vendors displaying and selling their wares; seminars on conservation, raised garden beds and window-box gardening; an All Things Faeries, Make It-Take It children’s program; wood carving instruction and display; and an Earth Day/May Day Pole in the Gazebo on the Green.

A luncheon will be available from 11 a.m. to noon; coffee and donuts will be available from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
