I know that there are several people on sunjournal.com who know me, and I know a few people in return. Sometimes we agree; sometimes we disagree. I think I have something here we can all agree on. It is very important to me and many others.
I was brought up to help out when I could. That is what appealed to me about Maine.
My appeal today is about the use and abuse of handicapped parking spaces. I am trying to get the word out.
People should use them properly. If disabled people have non-disbabled people shopping for them, don’t use a handicapped spot to wait.
I don’t have anyone else, so I need the spot. I can’t walk, but I can hobble pretty good. What may take most people an extra five minutes, may mean the difference between me shopping or not.
That handicapped plate on my car is sort of a plea for help — something I don’t do often.
