PARIS — Local author Patricia Gott has written a touching true tale about a horse named Fred and his struggles of being rescued, adopted and retrained.

“Horse Tails by Famous Fred” contains 15 photographs of Fred over his 32-plus years (pushing 100 years in people years).

“Fred was famous for who he was — a horse with a kind and gentle spirit who was loved by entire neighborhoods and towns in northeast Massachusetts and who showed his appreciation every day for being rescued and given a second chance at life.”

The horse is spending his retirement years off Stagecoach Road in Norway, with Pat Ingersoll, his owner since 2003, and her husband, John. The couple moved from Massachusetts nearly four years ago and care for 11 other “unwanted” horses at their farm.

Gott is a retired businesswoman and professional photographer, as well as author of a dozen books.

“Horse Tails by Famous Fred” may be purchased from Amazon.com, Smedbergs Farm Stand in Oxford,  Books N Things in Norway or Bethel and www.prgottbooks.net.
