DAV Chapter 11 presented special recognition plaques to three individuals who have helped in getting the new VA clinic in Lewiston. More than 40 attended the event, held prior to a meeting of the Franco Veterans Post 31 of Lewiston. The presentation was made by Lewiston Mayor Robert Macdonald. Seated from left with their awards are Bert Dutil, co-chairman of the Vet Clinic Committee, and Jerry Dewitt, chairman; back, Karen Staples, Sen. Olympia Snowe representative; Chiara Ferrante, Sen. Susan Collins representative; Macdonald; Matt Dubois, Rep. Michael Michaud representative; and Willie Danforth, post commander. Absent was Vet Clinic Committee member Ken St. Amand. Those honored are members of the Franco Veterans Post.
