LEWISTON — The April Lewiston Farmers Market will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19.

A special offering will be New York-style pizza featuring freshly made dough and home-made sauce by artisan baker Dara Reimers of The Bread Shack and root beer from Maine Root: Handcrafted Beverages topped off with a scoop of Maine-made gelato.

Visitors can enjoy this combo and be entered into a raffle to win a gently used road bike. Attendees who stop by the market cafe to purchase a pizza and root beer float combo will automatically be entered to win a road bike.

Pizza choices for the night will include classic cheese, roasted vegetable, cheese prosciutto and margherita.

Guests to the farmers’ market can shop with more than 25 vendors selling Maine grown and made products including fresh fruits and vegetables, artisan breads and cheeses, arts and crafts, seafood, beef, fresh cut flowers and more.

There will also be seedlings and potted plants for sale as well as fresh spring greens and mixed salad. Vendors like Hummingbird Farm will be selling a wide variety herbs, clematis and geraniums.

The Lewiston Winter Farmers’ Market meets monthly, the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, 208 Bates St.

The Lewiston Winter Farmers’ Market is sponsored by St. Mary’s Health System and is supported by staff from the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center.
