Start the day with a work share and garden opening at the Alan Day Community Garden from 10 a.m. to noon. Stroll over to the parking lot behind Fare Share Co-op to enjoy a full afternoon of music, dance and puppetry beginning at noon. The UU church on Main Street will host a public supper and Peace Concert at 6 p.m.
The Earth Day celebration begins with an opening poem reading by poet Lisa Moore. An afternoon of community dancing and playing will ensue, with musical performances by Trailer Trash, Jordan Kaulback, Marc Rodrigue, Doug Morgan, Eric Grenier, and A Bunch of Old Hippies. Dance troupes Navaeh and the Gypsy Relics and special hoop performance with Lindsay Dombeck will spice up the mix of performers.
Trash Into Art will be showing pieces of Circus Ole. Caribbean Cuisine will be available for traditional island fare. Roots Rock Redhead clothing will be selling upcycled clothing and Gypsy Relics will be selling hula hoops to help support the cost of the festival. All performers donate their time, energy and love to this celebration making it a true grassroots community celebration.
