BRUNSWICK – Firefighters from several towns were battling a house fire late Thursday night at the end of Merepoint.

The fire was first reported about 7 p.m. Two hours later, a Brunswick fire lieutenant said the blaze had not been contained yet.

There were no immediate reports of injury.

Firefighters were expected to remain at the scene late into the night and possibly into Friday morning.

There are several homes along Merepoint, a peninsula jutting out between Maquoit and Merepoint bays. Information about the owner of the home that burned was not available.
