LEWISTON — The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24th, at the Ramada Inn. A social half hour will be followed by lunch at noon.
After the speaker, there will be a business meeting conducted by Richard St. Amand, president. Secretary Leo Sirois will give a secretary’s report and also the treasurer’s report in treasurer Paul Ouellette’s absence. Any old or new business will be discussed. A Best Friends’ Award of a member’s contribution to the NARFE chapter and to others will be chosen. Also, the latest status on members attending the State Convention in May.
The Legislative Committee members, Claire Breton and Roland Metayer, will give a report on recent federal and state news and affiliated issues of interest to the NARFE members.
Guest speaker will be Andrea LeBlanc from Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice who will present an informative program on services available which provide skilled home care, supportive care and hospice care for Lewiston and Auburn and including central and western Maine.
Andrea has been COO of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for seven years and has had more than 22 years’ experience working in the health field as a director of nursing, staff nurse, project coordinator, program administrator and quality coordinator. She began her career in 1985 as a nurse in the US Air Force. She is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pa., with a BS in nursing.
Plans for the meeting were formulated at a board meeting at the Ramada on March 27 attended by Richard St. Amand, Jayne Bickford, Leo Sirois, Paul Ouellette, Doris Hamel, Claire Breton, Roland Metayer and Martha Robinson.
