Driver Norman West, 69, of Rumford watches a Rumford firefighter sweep absorbent material into radiator fluid leaking from his 2003 Mercury Sable on Thursday morning in Rumford. West was attempting to exit the Hannaford parking lot onto Waldo Street when he hit the rear tire area of a 2004 Sterling tractor-trailer truck driven by Matthew Dufault, 29, of Livermore, Rumford officer Brock Clukey said. Neither West nor Dufault was injured, but the front end of West’s car above the bumper was crushed in. There was no damage to the 14-wheeler, which is owned by Central Distributors Inc. of Lewiston.

West was exiting the Hannaford parking lot and said he couldn’t stop in time to avoid 14-wheeler driven by Matthew Dufault, 29, of Livermore. Dufault was making a delivery to Hannaford from Central Distributors Inc. of Lewiston.
