GORHAM — Russell G. Wagner, 81, a former resident of Livermore, died Saturday, April 21, at the Gorham House, with his family by his side.

He was born April 26, 1930, in Livermore Falls, the son of William Lloyd Wagner and Beulah Ramey Wagner. He was a 1948 graduate of Livermore Falls High School, and he graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1952.

On Sept. 13, 1953, at the Eaton Memorial United Methodist Church of Livermore Falls, he married his wife of 58 years, Katherine Riley. In 1955, he and his brother, Clayton, purchased Ham’s Drug Store in Livermore Falls from J.C. Ham. They ran the store for 30 years before selling it to Wellby’s Drug Store in 1985, where they continued working until they retired. Russell was a member of the Eaton Memorial United Methodist Church, Jay/Livermore Falls Jaycees, Rotary Club, North Livermore Historical Society and served on the SAD 36 School Board. He enjoyed family camping trips, antiquing, his dogs, and many summers at his cottage on Peaks Island. Russell was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine, of Gorham; his sons, Robie Wagner of Buxton and Richard Wagner of Windham; his daughters, Ann Wagner and her husband, Scott Wynn, of Arlington, Va., and Jean Wagner and her husband, Philip Hopper, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his brothers, Robie Wagner and his wife, Gloria, Clayton Wagner and his wife, Margaret, and his sister, Myra Bailey, all of Livermore Falls.

He was predeceased by his brother, Maurice Wagner.
