LEWISTON — Captive Elements Art House is presenting an art retrospective on Ray Fannin Jr. and Robert J. Russell. The opening reception will be held from 7 tp 9 p.m., on Friday, April 27, at Captive Elements on 223 Lisbon St., Lewiston. With over 80 years of artistic experience between them, a show like this can only begin to scratch the surface. “I have admired Ray’s minimalistic approach and philosophy towards his paintings and photography. He can push the viewer into the illogical with just a simple line,” curator Kerry Landry said. “Robert might just be one of the greatest unrecognized artists I have ever known or read about. He has identified a future of spiraling colors, ancient cities, and ornamental avatars we have all worn.”
The exhibit is the second in a series of two-man shows at Captive Elements. The exhibit will be on display from April 25th to May 18th. For more information please visit www.lacaptives.com or call 207-577-4916.
