STRATTON — The Dead River Area Historical Society will sponsor its fifth annual walk-a-thon at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, starting at the Stratton Elementary School parking lot to the Old Dump. The four-mile hike will be a fun and fit activity for all ages. Drinks, snacks and prizes will be provided. There will be additional prizes for participants bringing in the most money.

This year the group’s goal is to have the entire front of the museum painted. It has been a long journey, painting a side a year.

Pledge sheets can be picked up at Pine’s Market, Northland Cash and Fotter’s Market; they need to be turned in at the event.

Return pledge sheets with collected money to Mary Henderson, president/treasurer, 180 Main St., PO Box 15, Stratton, ME by May 28. All contributions are tax- deductible

For the safety of smaller participants, the group asks no running or jogging.

For questions or concerns, call Mary Henderson 246-2271.
