LEWISTON — The Margaret Murphy Center for Children has been awarded a $5,000 donation from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation to be used toward replenishing and modernizing the library space.

Funds will be used toward books, periodicals and new library technology.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the generous donation from the STK foundation.” said School Administrator Tiffany Haskell, “This is a significant help in our efforts to improve the resources available to students at MMCC. Not only are we able to offer a greater breadth of reading materials, but we are also able to invest in much needed technology for our school library.”

The Margaret Murphy Center for Children, a division of John F. Murphy Homes Inc., is a special-purpose school and day treatment facility with three locations in the L/A area, as well as satellite classrooms in the public school setting.

MMCC works primarily with children with autism and other developmental disorders
