PORTLAND – Christopher Veazie, the 22-year-old accused of producing and possessing child pornography, was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in federal prison.

Veazie was arrested in May of 2011 after Lisbon and state police teamed up with federal authorities to investigate a report of disturbing images found on Veazie’s computer.

When police obtained a warrant and examined the laptop, they found more than 2,000 still images and more than 400 video stills containing child pornography, prosecutors said.

Among the images were those of a 4-year-old boy, whom police said Veazie had been sexually molesting and filming the abuse.

Veazie was ultimately found in Augusta and arrested. In December, he pleaded guilty to charges of production and possession of child pornography.

According to court records, Veazie has a previous conviction for robbery and assault in Washington state. He returned to Maine in 2010 and has been living at a number of locations, police said.
