PARIS — Two people have filed nomination papers for one of two seats on the Board of Selectmen.
Robert Wessels and Gerald Kilgore have submitted papers for Jean Smart’s seat, Town Clerk Elizabeth Knox said. The deadline for filing is Friday. The election will be held June 12.
The second seat is that of Kenneth West, who resigned Monday with one year left on his term. Selectmen will decide Friday when to start accepting nomination papers for the seat and when that election will be held.
West, who was elected in 2010, told selectmen he could no longer set aside the time for board work.
