LISBON — Kimber Morse scattered two hits and drew adequate run support as Lisbon squeaked out a 3-2 victory over Dirigo in MVC softball action Wednesday.

Brooke Lawrence led the Greyhounds (1-0) with two hits and one RBI, while Bailey Madore scored on a fielder’s choice.

The Cougars (2-1) received a strong performance from pitcher Alyssa Wade, as she gave up just six hits in the contest. Mariah Larsen belted a double, while Alyssa Charity scored off an RBI single by Bryce Parent.

Spruce Mountain 7, Hall-Dale 5

FARMINGDALE — Cassidy Couture ripped a two-run double to left field in the top of the 11th inning to lift Spruce Mountain to a 7-5 victory over Hall-Dale in softball action Wednesday.

The Bulldogs (0-2) led off the scoring with a pair of runs in the first inning. Hall-Dale pitcher Olivia Maynard had a pair of hits, including a double. Paula Despres goes to 2-0 on the season for the Phoenix (2-0).

Poland 8, Wells 6

POLAND — Senior center fielder Katrina Seely and Melora Lavoie had big doubles in the fifth inning as Poland scored five runs and notched an 8-6 victory over Wells in softball action Wednesday.

Seeley had three doubles and two RBIs for the Knights (2-2). Makayla Dube, Kelsey DeBurra and Lavoie each produced a pair of hits as Poland matched the Warriors in the hit category.

Meghan Young had a double and three RBIs to account for half of Wells’ points.

Kylie Martin struck out six and earned her first win of the season for Poland.

Mountain Valley 19, Boothbay 3

BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Hannah LaPointe launched a three-run homer in a seven-run third inning to add some fireworks to Mountain Valley’s 19-3 victory over Boothbay in softball action Wednesday.

Brooke Dolloff was a repeat hitter with a double and gained the mound win for the Falcons (2-0).

Meghan Smith suffered the loss for the Seahawks (0-1) in their first contest of the season.

Monmouth 15, Carrabec 2

MONMOUTH — Reen Kahl ripped a pair of doubles and drove in two runs as Monmouth sailed to a 15-2 victory over Carrabec in softball action Wednesday.

The Mustangs (1-0) capitalized on timely hitting and strong base running to garner 15 runs on seven hits.

Reen Kahl earned the mound win for the Mustangs.

Ashlee Knight took the mound loss for the Cobras (0-1), giving up nine walks along the way.

Telstar 6, Wiscasset 4

WISCASSET — Gabby Stone sparked a three-run rally in the seventh inning that propelled Telstar to a 6-4 win over Wiscasset in an MVC softball matchup Wednesday.

After the Rebels (1-0) jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the third frame, the Wolverines (1-1) tied the game in the fourth and took command in the fifth.

Kallie Brown had two hits for Telstar, while Maisey Griffin tied the game with a two-run single in the seventh.

Stone also made a key defensive play in the sixth inning that prevented Wiscasset from scoring. Jessica Dirago pitched a solid game, scattering six hits and striking out eight in a complete game.

Oak Hill 6, Waterville 4

WALES — Kortni Michaud proved to be a phenomenon on the diamond Wednesday, handling pitching duties and leading at the plate as Oak Hill notched a 6-4 win over Waterville in a KVAC softball tilt. Michaud went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Raiders (2-2). Michaud drove in Marissa Caskin and Alyssa Ruel after they reached base in the third frame to give Oak Hill a 5-2 advantage.

Leavitt 6, Maranacook 4

READFIELD — Tori Zupancic doubled twice and drove in three runs as Leavitt shook off Maranacook with a 6-4 victory in a softball game Wednesday.

The Hornets held a slim 4-2 lead after three innings and then topped it off with two more runs in the seventh.

Nan Smith hammered out a double for Maranacook.

Leavitt spread out five hits and worked around its six errors.

Michelle Morin got the win on the mound, striking out four batters and giving up three hits.

Lacrosse

Oxford Hills 12, EL 10

PARIS — Kristen Gamache and Danielle Allen ignited an eight-goal second half as Oxford Hills overpowered Edward Little 12-10 in KVAC girls’ lacrosse action Wednesday.

Gamache led the Vikings (1-0) with gour goals, including a pair in that key second half. Jooma Murch chipped in with three goals, while Danielle Allen and Lacy Landry each added a pair of goals.

A single tally from Abby Martin completed the scoring, while Audrey Komulainen made 19 saves to notch the win. The Red Eddies (1-1) were paced by Shelby Russell with four goals, while Taylor Landry added three and Gabby Lapierre tallied two. A single goal from Tori Couture rounded out the final tally.
