AUBURN — Lucienne Anita Couture, 93, of 28 Sherbrooke Ave., Lewiston, died Tuesday, April 3, at Clover Manor in Auburn.

Born in Auburn on Feb. 2, 1919, she was the daughter of Horace and Julia Laverdiere Couture. Educated in local schools, she worked for 53 years as a top stitcher in area shoe shops, including Knapp Shoe and Shapiro Brothers.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish and a frequent communicant of Holy Family Church.

She is survived by a son, Edward Couture of Lewiston; a sister, Gloria Chadburn of Lewiston; a nephew, Steven Chadburn of Lewiston; and two nieces, Diane Patry of Boston, Mass. and Louise Beecher of Madison, Conn.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a twin brother, Lucien; and a sister, Paulette Patry.
