COLTON, CALIF. — Neil Joseph Campbell, 86, of Colton, Calif., died April 21, 2012 at his daughter’s home in California.
He was born June 23, 1926, in Lewiston, the son of Neil and Magdeline Campbell.
He was a member of the Masonic Roboni Lodge in Lewiston and American Legion in Marlborough, Mass.
He graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1944. He later worked on the 50th reunion committee. After the event, he spoke fondly of seeing so many of his old classmates he and his wife, Jackie used to hang out with before they went marching off to World War II .
After retirement, he enjoyed working at ITT Golf Course in Massachusetts and volunteering at a local nursing home. He was employed with W.T. Grant for 32 years. He later retired from Sommerville Lumber Co. in Massachusetts.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Jeanne from California; his two sons, Stephen from Pennsylvania and Robert of Portland; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wives, Eleanor Horrigan of Massachusetts and Jacqueline Benson of Lewiston; and his son, Gordon.
