LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Jeannette M. Sarrazin was celebrated by the The Rev. Monsignor Rene Mathieu Friday afternoon at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish.
At the beginning of Mass, Jeannette’s children draped their mother’s casket with a white burial pall, signifying her Baptism into a new spiritual life with God. A scripture reading as well as the Prayer of the Faithful was read by Jeannette’s granddaughter, Lisa Breton-Eaton. The Offertory Gifts were brought to the altar by Jeannette’s great-grandchildren, Matthew and Rachael Thebarge as well as Marcel Eaton. Words of remembrance were also shared by Jeannette’s grandson, Joseph Theriault, who remembered his Memere being an inspiration to him and his family as well as an example to follow in life. Following a funeral procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Monsignor Mathieu recited committal prayers which were followed by Jeannette’s granddaughter, Amy Wedge, sharing how special her grandmother was to her and and her entire family. All in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston.
The pallbearers were John, Andrew and Joseph Theriault as well as Michael Sarrazin, Derek Thebarge, Ryan Wedge, Marshall Flowers and Keith Berling. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
