MEXICO — The class of ’64 of Mexico High School will have their class lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Far East Restaurant. Any questions call 364-3388 or 364-7329.

Elks to hold Burger N’ Things

RUMFORD — Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 will hold the next Wednesday Night Burger N’ Things from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2.

Eat in or take outs are available. Enjoy a meal with family and friends and enjoy a game of pool or two.

May 2 is lobster rolls, May 9 is chicken patty sandwiches with lettuce and tomato, May 16 is steak sandwiches, May 23 is gourmet burgers and May 30 is fish baskets. Served every week are burgers, wings, chicken fingers, fries, hand-dipped onion rings, pepper rings and fresh garden salad.

Scouts selling crafts at fair

DIXFIELD — Girl Scout Troop 662 will attend the craft/bake sale to be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Dixfield American Legion. They will be selling Duct tape crafts and other items that they have made.

Spring Fling craft fair

DIXFIELD — A Spring Fling craft fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Dixfield Congregational Church.

A pancake and waffles breakfast will go from 8 to 10 a.m. and a luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crafts, attic treasures, bake sale items and raffles will all be available. There will also be a cake silent auction. Tickets will be sold on an Adirondack Chair to be drawn on June 30.

There will be free gift wrapping for Mother’s Day gifts.

Mexico High Class of 1961

MEXICO — Classmates from the Mexico High School Class of 1961 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Dick’s Place. All classmates and guests are invited.

Bottle drive to benefit trip

RUMFORD — There will be a bottle drive on Saturday, May 5, to benefit Salena Sawtelle’s trip to International Games in Australia.

She will represent the state of Maine. Bottles can also be dropped off at the Bottle Depot on Waldo Street and the Mexico Bottle Depot in Selena’s name.

Grange free seed day

RUMFORD — The Rumford Grange 115 will have their annual free seed day at the Rumford Center Grange Hall on Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. The seeds have been donated by seed sales companies to help promote agricultural awareness.

Grange kicks off Sunday dinners

RUMFORD — Rumford Grange 115 will have the first Sunday dinner of the season from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 6. The baked ham meal will include potato, salad, pickles, rolls and the famous homemade pies by the Grange ladies. Adults are $8; children under 12 are $3.50.

Mahoosuc spring concert

BETHEL — Mahoosuc Community Band will play its Spring Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at the West Parish Congregational Church, UCC on Church Street.

Patricia Boyle-Wight directs the community band. Refreshments to follow the performance. Donations accepted to help defray the costs of music purchases.

Stephens High Class of 1952

RUMFORD — The class of 1952 from Stephens High of Rumford met recently at the home of Vito and Jean Gaccetta for a class reunion meeting and dinner made and served by the Gaccetta’s and Bev Deroches and dessert made by Angie Arsenault.

The class worked on the upcoming 60th reunion to be held in August. Attending were Angie Arsenault, chairwoman; Bev De Roches, co-chairwoman; Vito Gaccetta, Dennis and Dru Breton, Pat Hopkins, Paul and Pat Jones, Dot Benedix, Lois Ross, Betty Dumoulin, Eve Routhier and Barbara Doherty.

The class will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, at the River Valley Grill.

Seniors seeing ‘Golden Pond’

Sale benefits Trek Across Maine

RUMFORD — There will be garage and food sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20, at 141 Hall Hill, to benefit the American Lung Association’s Trek Across Maine. There will be truck full of split wood, bread, pies, maple syrup, chain saws, tools, boats, furniture, books including naval history and war fiction and nonfiction and more.

Ride For Life benefits Relay

RUMFORD — The annual Ride For Life Motorcycle Ride is scheduled for June 2. Participants will register at L.A. Harley Davidson in Lewiston at 9 a.m. A safety briefing will take place at 9:45 and the bikes will depart from L.A. Harley at 10 and travel to Hosmer Field in Rumford, where they will display their bikes and enjoy a barbecue hosted by the River Valley Unit Relay For Life.

Early registration is available by calling Cindi at 357-2701 or Andrea at 357-5606. Register before May 25 and the donation is $15 per rider; after May 25 the donation will be $20 per rider. All donations benefit the River Valley Unit Relay For Life Event for 2012.
