LEWISTON – Northeast Bank has partnered with the YWCA of Central Maine to introduce new services and keep its members active.

The bank donated $3,000 to the YWCA, enabling it to invest in full-body gaming systems designed to improve health and wellness efforts, specifically targeting youth and senior groups.

The donation was used to purchase Nintendo Wii and Xbox Kinect systems, which allow members to engage in active gaming — requiring full-body movement.

When inclement weather prevents members from being outside, the new interactive gaming experience provides indoor activity options in a climate-controlled environment.

The YWCA has received a positive response to the new wellness offering and has developed a schedule with time slots, ensuring that all members have a chance to utilize the gaming systems.
