For Easter Sunday and my daughter’s birthday on April 17, I left an angel at her gravesite. I went back on April 21 and it was gone.

This is not the first time someone has stolen items at her gravesite.

At the cemetery we are allowed to leave “winter” baskets from November through April 15.

In March when it was so warm, I picked up my winter basket. Then we are allowed to leave plants, etc., until after Memorial Day. The staff there then pick up the items and put them behind a building for people to pick up.

I don’t know if someone stole the angel off her grave or from the back of that building after spring cleaning was done. No matter what area it was stolen from, it is still stealing and it is wrong.

I had not left angels for five years because someone always stole them. I know I should know better, but she’s been gone 18 years in February and I wanted something special, so I left another angel.

Those people who have stolen items off a grave should know that the people involved already suffered a great pain by losing their loved ones, and by taking away the little acts of love they are inflicting more pain and causing a great deal of anger.
