Two Lewiston Elementary Schools are benefiting from a collaborative Arts in Education project with L/A Arts, The Public Theater and featuring puppeteer Ian Bannon and Figures of Speech Theatre. The program began April 30 with a performance by Bannon at Geiger Elementary School, followed by a week-long shadow puppet residency in the classrooms. The residency at McMahon Elementary School will kick off Thursday, May 10, and continue through May 18. Each residency will finish with trips to the Public Theatre in Lewiston to see live puppet performances by Crabgrass Puppet Theater. The performances and residencies are not open to the general public. Bannon is shown behind the screen during one of his Jester Kings of Java Performances.
