Texas hold ’em

RUMFORD — A Texas hold ’em tournament will be held Saturday, May 5, at American Legion Post 24. Games start at 10 a.m. Buy in is $50. Lunch will be served at noon; cost for lunch is $6.

‘Green Church’ pork supper

MEXICO — A roast pork supper will be served to the public at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Mexico Congregational United Church of Christ (the “Green Church”) on Main Street. The menu includes homemade pies. The price is $8 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Take-out will be available after 5:30; call 364-8603.

Stephens High Class of 1952

RUMFORD — The class of 1952 from Stephens High will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, at the River Valley Grill.

Society plans yard, plant sale

RUMFORD — The Rumford Historical Society will hold its annual fund-raising yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2. Rain date is Saturday, June 9.

The society will have the customary variety of yard sale items for sale. In addition, perennial and annual plants will be offered, as well as a food table.

Members donating items (no clothing) should price them and contact David Gawtry at 369-9039 for time and place to deliver donations. Marwy Greaney at 364-7495 will appreciate a call for food donations. To donate pots for the plant sale or to share plant cuttings, contact Nghia Ha at 369-9039. The Lufkin School Museum will open for the summer Saturdays, and visitors to the yard sale are urged to stop in and see the historical artifacts owned by the Rumford Historical Society.
