SOUTH CHINA — John Suga sparked a three-run first inning that propelled Erskine on to a 6-1 victory over Lewiston in KVAC baseball action Thursday.

Suga belted a timely RBI double that broke things open for the Eagles (4-2). Shyler Sctaes also contributed with an RBI double for Erskine.

Matt Bowen handled pitching duties for the Blue Devils (4-2) during the first four frames and was tagged with the loss.

Edward Little 3, Mt. Ararat 2

AUBURN —  Corey Henderson belted an RBI single in the sixth inning to lift Edward Little to a narrow 3-2 victory over Mt. Ararat in KVAC baseball action Thursday.

Luke Farrago scattered three hits for the Red Eddies (5-2) and earned his third victory of the season.

The brother act of Trent and Torrey Charnock led Mt. Ararat (2-4), with Torrey pounding out two hits with one RBI. Trent belted a timely RBI double in the sixth frame.

Oxford Hills 10, Brunswick 0

PARIS —  Brandon Campbell hurled five innings of one-hit baseball Thursday as Oxford Hills rolled to a 10-0 rout over Brunswick in a KVAC baseball tilt.

Ryan Gaudin led the Vikings (5-1) with two hits and two RBIs, while Matt Beauchesne, Nick Dyer and Nick Bowie all pounded out two hits each.

The winless Dragons (0-7) were paced by Alex Viola with a double in the third frame.

Yarmouth 14, Poland 4

YARMOUTH — The Yarmouth baseball squad erupted for eight runs in the fifth inning and raced away to a 14-4 victory over Poland in a WMC matchup Thursday.

After a scoreless first inning, the Clippers built a 2-0 advantage by the end of the third.

Dillon Douglass led the Knights with two hits and one run scored, while Jake Simard also pounded out two hits.

Mt. Abram 7, Wiscasset 6

SALEM — Despite a seven-run eruption by Wiscasset in the seventh inning, Mt. Abram scored the game-winning run in the bottom half to escape with a 7-6 victory in a baseball game Thursday.

In the seventh, Cal Dixon singled, stole second base, moved to third on an attempted pickoff and scored the game-winner on a dropped third strike.

The Roadrunners’ Trent Rosenberg went 3-for-3 and Arthur Ryan doubled in the sixth inning. Mt. Abram’s Rob Rivers got the win on the mound after pitching to one batter. Jay Chenard nearly went the distance before being replaced and only gave up three hits.

Telstar 4, Hall-Dale 2

BETHEL — Corey Howard doubled and Telstar added two more runs in the third inning, handing on for a 4-2 victory over Hall-Dale (3-2) in a baseball game Thursday.

The scored was tied 2-2 before the Rebels (3-1) punched in two more runs. Pitcher Kyle Peterson got the win on the mound, giving up nine hits, but walking only one batter. The Rebels had only four hits.

For Hall-Dale, Zac Plummer and Brad Shepherd each had two hits.

Mountain Valley 10, Mt. Blue 3

RUMFORD — Kyle Duguay netted five goals Thursday to lead Mountain Valley to a 10-3 victory over Mt. Blue.

Nathan Nicols chipped in for the Falcons with three goals, while Jonathan Petrie added two.

Sam Taylor led Mt. Blue with two goals and one assist, while Matt Smith also tallied.
