LEWISTON — National storyteller Michael Parent will lead a residency and doing a full school performance at Longley Elementary School.
On May 7, Parent begins by doing a theatrical storytelling performance at the school, which will be followed by five days of workshops in all of the third- and fourth-grade classrooms. In the residency, the students will learn and perform stories about family traditions, which will culminate in final presentations for invited family, friends and school community. In all, this residency and performance will reach approximately 75 students.
Parent is a featured artist for L/A Arts, Arts in Education initiative which pairs artists and area schools for an exceptional, professional arts experience.
Lewiston native Michael Parent, of French-Canadian descent, has performed as a storyteller and singer since 1977.
