RUMFORD — Tax Collector Tom Bourret and Selectman Greg Buccina are being challenged for their positions at the June 12 elections.

Buccina, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, is being challenged Kevin Saisi, chairman of the Comprehensive Plan Committee, and Mary McPherson. The term is for three years.

Bourret, who is seeking his first, full two-year term, is being challenged by Kim Cocca, Cynthia Kelley, Amy Bernard and Jeremy Vashaw.

Town Clerk and Treasurer Beth Bellegarde is unopposed for another two-year term, as is RSU 10 director Marcia Chaisson for another three-year term.

No one has returned nomination papers for a three-year seat on the Board of Assessors, which has been held by Ron Russell. Bellegarde said the position will likely be filled by a write-in candidate.

The annual municipal election takes place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 12 at the American Legion Hall on upper Congress Street.
