FARMINGTON — Jacqueline M. Payne, 74, of Kingfield, passed away Saturday, May 5, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born Feb. 24, 1938, in Woonsocket, R.I., the daughter of John and Christiana (Lamy) St. Jacques. She was educated in the schools of Woonsocket, R.I., and attended Farmington Teacher’s College. She enjoyed spending time as a child at Clearwater Lake.

Jackie married Raymond Payne and then raised four children. She and the children moved to Maine to be near the help and support of her older sister, Pauline. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She loved watching the Red Sox, was an animal lover, enjoyed bird watching and especially enjoyed her own talking bird, Bijou.

Jackie is survived by her companion, Ralph Stevens; three daughters, Colleen Eugley and her husband, Douglas, of Sydney, Trisha O’Connor and her fiance, Paul Doucette, of Kingfield and Cheryl Payne and her fiance, Bill Gibson, of Standish; her son, Michael Payne and his wife, Carol, of West Gardiner; six grandchildren, Tim, Ryan, Alexandra, Alyssa, Amanda and Sophia; a great-granddaughter, Natalie: and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline Yeaton and Doris Kalberer; and her brother, Clem St. Jacques.
