LEWISTON — Paul G. Caron, associate professor of secondary education at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College, will be the presenter at the L-A Senior College Food for Thought 11:30 lunch on Friday, May 11. His topic is “Musical Treats.”

Caron is well known in theater circles for the many musicals he has directed at local theaters. He will deliver an abridged version of the musical theater class he taught this past year at L/A Senior College. The presentation will look at the elements that go into the creation of a musical comedy.

Caron was born to a large family of musicians and he learned at a young age to play the piano and perform in public including local churches, theaters and for his grandmothers. His latest musical was “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” for Community Little Theatre, which received rave reviews in the local press. Caron received his Ph.D. in science and mathematics curriculum. He will be teaching another musical theater course for Senior College this coming fall semester.

Senior College, now in its 13th year, presents the monthly luncheon program in the Function Room 170 at USM LAC. The cost, which includes lunch, is $7 with advance reservation or $8 at the door. Reservations must be made by noon on May 10 by calling 753-6510. Any late callers will be considered “at the door.”
