Just when I thought I had heard it all, former football players with brain injuries are suing the National Football League for not properly protecting them from those injuries.
Those guys made a bazillion bucks to play a dangerous game — a game that they knew full well to be dangerous and could lead to future medical problems. Now they’re suing the NFL for their injuries.
Incredible.
I’ve done many things in my life to earn a couple of extra bucks, but my commercial flooring business was my bread and butter. To make a living, I worked on my hands and knees, alongside my men, knowing that slamming that knee kicker to stretch carpet would come back and bite me in later years.
Now the later years are here and both of my knees may need replacing.
Can I sue the flooring manufacturers? I think not.
The problem with these rich jocks , who have squandered their millions, is that there are no brain replacements, and it was their choice to knowingly play a dangerous game.
Suing the NFL? I think not.
