LIVERMORE — On May 7 the Jay-Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall with Fernande Doiron presiding. There were 30 members and one guest, Napoleon Frechette, present.

Following the opening ceremonies George Doiron sang “Mother” for all the mothers present in observance of Mother’s Day and he also sang the Alphabet Song.

Pat Laverdiere announced that the trip in September to York has been canceled due to lack of interest. The trip to the Fryeburg Fair is still on with the group from the Rumford area. The cost is $10. Call Fern at 897-2782 for reservation or information after the group’s last meeting on May 21.

The secretary’s report was unavailable this week. The treasurer’s monthly report was read and accepted as read.

The monthly Chinese auction will be held May 14.

The last meeting before the summer vacation will be a picnic. Hospitality chairman Pat Laverdiere has the menu completed for the event. Attendees are invited to come dressed ready for a summer picnic. It was also voted that the meal will begin at 12:30 that day. Following the meal Louise Parker will be entertaining and it was voted to give her a donation for providing the fun for all.

The 50/50 was won by Alice Demoras. Door prizes provided by Pat and Gail Laverdiere, Marilyn DeSoto, Georgia Hersey and Fernande Doiron were won by Gail Laverdiere, Georgia Hersey, Marguerite Slovak, Joyce Richard and Frances Therrien. Following the meeting root beer floats were served as well as other refreshments by Marguerite Slovak, Frances Therrien and Alice Demoras. Next week Diane Getz, Marguerite Richardson and Edith Leblanc will be providing the refreshments.

Games, cards and beano were enjoyed by all present.
