BERLIN, N.H. — Wilfred Baker, 92, of Berlin, N.H., formerly of Lincoln Plantation, died Monday, May 7, at Androscoggin Valley Hospital.
He was born in Newry, Dec. 4, 1919, the son of Joseph and Florida Provenchy Baker. He faithfully served in the U.S. Army. He married Margaret Bennett, Aug. 17, 1940.
He had been employed as a logger and at Bennett’s Garage. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 17, the Shriner’s, the American Legion, the Grange in Wilsons Mills and the VFW.
He is survived by a son, Donald and his wife, Shirley, of Berlin, N.H.; a grandson, Douglas Baker and his companion, Kathy Ordway, of Berlin, N.H.; a great-grandson, William Baker; and a sister, Dora Gardner of Waterford.
He was predeceased by his wife in November 2011.
