LEWISTON — Rita M. St. Hilaire, 62, of Auburn, died Friday, May 11, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 15, 1949, the daughter of Armand and Lauretta (Fournier) Giasson.

She worked all her life in various shoe shops in the Lewiston/Auburn area.

Rita loved to spend time with her grandchildren and also socializing with her many friends at the Townhouse.

She enjoyed her birds, playing cribbage and cards, and loved to live life to the fullest.

She is survived by her four daughters Tammy Morin of Dexter, April Biron and husband, Scott, and Raquel Veilleux and companion, Stan Staples, all of Litchfield, and Renee Lavoie of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Aleasha and Tamara Bohan, Robby Morin, Shelby Breton, Nick and Shauna Staples, and Aimee and Jennie-Rae Lavoie; her siblings, Cecilia Footman of Lisbon, Ronald Giasson and wife, Katie, of Lewiston, Theresa Lemieux of Lisbon, Diane Jackson of North Carolina, Sue Gendron of Lewiston, Paul Giasson of Auburn, Jeanne Mongeau of Lewiston, and Geraldine Giasson of Lisbon; and her fiance, Jody Sutherland, of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her parents; her stepfather, Andy Anderson, who raised her; her sisters, Elizabeth Bruneau and Carmen Therriault; and her brothers-in-law, Lester Jackson and Raymond Footman.
