RUMFORD — Emma Mae Biggar Patrick passed away on May 11, with her children by her side at the Rumford Community Home, where she had resided for the past six years.
She was born on April 8, 1925, in Rumford, the daughter of Leslie and Rose Biggar.
Emma was married for 45 years to the late Stephen J. Patrick. They raised their family on Roxbury Road in Mexico. She was a devout Catholic, a congregant of the former St. Theresa’s Parish, where she belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne.
She was talented with knitting and crocheting, and was an avid reader. Emma especially enjoyed spending time with friends and playing bingo. Her many summers were spent at Dummer’s Beach in Weld with her family and was a great source of joy for her.
She is lovingly remembered by her family as being an especially patient, kind,and gentle soul, who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Thibeault and Rapheno Thibeault Jr. of Mexico; son, John and wife, Claire Patrick, of Rumford; son, Tom and wife, Penny Patrick, of Peru; daughter, Sharon and husband, Ivan Coulombe, of Kennebunk; seven grandchildren, Jen Rinaldo and husband, Rick, Brian Thibeault, Greg Blouin, Joshua Patrick, Emily Chambers and husband, Justin, and Alexander and Alyssa Coulombe; and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Grace Rinaldo.
Besides her husband, Mae was predeceased by her son, Stephen L. Patrick; infant daughter, Linda Rose Patrick; and daughter, Brenda J. Patrick.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the loving care given to their mother by the staff of the Rumford Community Home, with special mention of her roommate, Anna May Buotte.
